All About Me!

Hey y’all! I’m Wendy, a Registered Dietitian and founder of Nutritional Bliss. I started this website because I’ve seen so many people frustrated, unhappy, stressed, and confused by nutrition. My goal is to help you find peace, happiness, and ultimately bliss with food by providing helpful tips and tricks, as well as credible information backed by evidence-based science.

I grew up in a small town in northeast Wisconsin as the middle child of 3 girls. I currently live in El Paso, TX with my boyfriend, Manny and our herd of pets.

Five Fun Facts About Me

1. I love cats! My first word as a child was ‘kitty’ and that love has followed me throughout life. My two childhood cats still live with my mom in Wisconsin and will be 18 this May! We currently have 4 cats, all of which were rescues, and if our house was bigger we would probably have more!

2. I went skydiving in Hawaii and if give the chance, would totally do it again! My senior year of college, I did a winter session study abroad in Hawaii and my last day on the islands, I decided to jump out of a plane. I texted my mom right before we boarded the plane that if she didn’t hear from me in an hour, I was dead. She wasn’t too pleased with that text! Luckily, my instructor was extremely experienced so I got to enjoy the breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains surrounding me!

3. My favorite food is cheese. Coming from a family of dairy farmers, it’s not surprising. My favorites are colby-jack or a good sharp cheddar.  I love getting fresh cheese curds whenever I visit Wisconsin and sharing them with my friends wherever I’m living. People tend to get weird-ed out by the squeakiness!

4. I have a thing for inspirational quotes. I love finding quotes for special moments or to describe my feelings. When in college, I had a humorous/insulting quote chalkboard in my house that I changed up weekly. If you ever need inspiration, I’m your girl!

5. I am deathly afraid of snakes. Living in the desert, there are signs everywhere to “Be Aware of Rattle Snakes” and I take that very seriously. I actually carry a pocket knife with me whenever I hike in case I need to stab a snake or something. Once, I was hiking a 2 mile loop trail with my mom and we were about .2 miles from the end when a couple stopped us and said there was a rattle snake on the path. Rather than walk around it in the brush, I made my mom turn around and walk the whole 1.8 miles back!
